What is Lightmix
Light Mix is a render element, that enables you to adjust the color and intensity of your light assets During and post Rendered. Vray separates all your light assets into separate channels and this gives us endless possibilities to create different lighting scenarios from one single render.
Pre-Render Tips
Name your lights
Keep light intensity colors to white (default)
Set realistic intensity values for all your lights
Set balanced exposure values to avoid over exposure and under exposure
How does it work?
Add lightmix as a render elements by Right-clicking on the element icon and find lightmix from the list.
You then have 4 options for the arrangement of the lights.
Individual lights: to see each light object is stored in a separate channel.
Group Instances: All instances of light are grouped and stored in a separate channel
By Layers: All lights on the same layer will be arranged in one channel.
Light ID: You can assign an object ID if you right-click on the light asset, find Vray Object ID, and set an ID number for the light. So lights sharing the same ID number will share the same adjustable Channel.
One key benefit of this option you can add an object ID as part of your render element to create its selection Mask from your light assets.
So select the option that complements your workflow. and we should be ready to render.
